Steady Hiring and Separation Rates

The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) indicated that hiring activity remained robust, with 5.4 million hires recorded in March, mirroring the previous month's numbers. The hires rate held steady at 3.4%, showcasing the market's stability.

Changes in Labor Market Dynamics

Total separations saw a marginal decline to 5.1 million, with the separations rate slightly decreasing by 0.1 percentage point to 3.2%. Notably, the quits rate experienced an uptick, reaching 2.1%, as 3.3 million individuals chose to leave their jobs, reflecting growing confidence among workers.
