In a bold step towards enhancing its technological infrastructure, India is poised to request the United States for eased export controls and access to critical technologies. The sectors identified for these concessions include telecom equipment, biotechnology, artificial intelligence (AI), pharmaceuticals, quantum computing, and semiconductors. India's request underscores its ambition to become a global leader in these cutting-edge technologies.

Duty Concessions on the Table

Additionally, India is seeking duty concessions for its labor-intensive sectors like textiles, gems and jewellery, leather goods, and more. Conversely, the US has its sights set on concessions in industrial goods, electric vehicles, and agricultural products, highlighting the mutual benefits sought from the agreement.
