Eurozone Construction Output Declines

In a recent report by Eurostat, the European Commission's statistical office, it was revealed that the Eurozone experienced a 0.5% monthly decline in construction output this February. This downturn reflects broader economic challenges within the region.

The European Union wasn't spared, with a slight decrease of 0.4% in construction output. However, when compared to February of the previous year, there's a glimmer of hope with a 0.2% increase in the euro area and a 0.3% rise across the EU.

Sector-Specific Impacts

Breaking down the numbers, the Eurozone's building construction sector faced the steepest decline at 2.2%, followed by civil engineering at 1.3%, and specialized construction activities at a minimal 0.1%. The EU mirrored these trends with building construction down by 1.8%, civil engineering by 0.5%, and specialized construction activities by 0.2%.
