Volkswagen Adapts to China's Competitive Auto Market
The Volkswagen Group CEO, Oliver Blume, revealed in Shanghai that the company is set to recalibrate its production scale in China, a response to the escalating competition in the region.

"Our extensive production capacity in China, established over the years, necessitates adjustments akin to those we implemented in Germany," Blume explained, alluding to the significant workforce and production cuts made in late 2024.
Challenges and Innovations
Despite maintaining its position as the top foreign automaker in China, Volkswagen has witnessed a notable downturn in sales, attributed to the rising popularity of domestic brands. In a bold move to counteract this trend, the company unveiled 20 new electric vehicles and advanced driver assistance systems at the recent Shanghai auto show.
