In a groundbreaking move, American Airlines Inc. announced on Tuesday its plan to offer free Wi-Fi on over 2 million flights, covering 90% of its fleet, starting January 2026. This exclusive benefit is reserved for members of its AAdvantage loyalty program, marking a significant enhancement in passenger experience.

Partnership for Enhanced Connectivity

The inflight connectivity upgrade is made possible through a collaboration with AT&T Inc., leveraging the power of Viasat and Intelsat satellite services. By the end of 2025, American Airlines aims to equip more than 500 regional aircraft with high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuring seamless internet access for travelers in time for the launch of the complimentary service.
