Daimler Truck AG announced a significant 8% drop in global sales for the first quarter of 2025, with total deliveries falling to 99,812 units from 109,911 in the same period last year. This downturn reflects broader challenges in the automotive sector, particularly in the electric vehicle segment.

Segment Performance

The Mercedes-Benz Trucks unit experienced an 18% decrease in sales, totaling 33,446 units, while Trucks North America saw a 16% decline with 38,992 vehicles sold. Conversely, Trucks Asia reported a 16% increase in sales, delivering 24,772 units, and Daimler Buses enjoyed an 11% rise, with 6,206 vehicles sold.

Electric Vehicle Sales

Battery-electric vehicle sales also faced a downturn, decreasing by 7% year-over-year to 759 units, indicating potential hurdles in the transition to electric mobility.
