Leonardo S.p.A., in collaboration with Airbus SE and Thales Group, is poised to introduce a groundbreaking European satellite alliance aimed at competing with Elon Musk's Starlink. CEO Roberto Cingolani revealed the ambitious plan during a recent interview with CNBC.

Cingolani emphasized the ongoing efforts to evaluate potential synergies among the companies. "We are currently assessing the feasibility from a market perspective and ensuring compliance with antitrust regulations," he stated. Future Satellite Launches

In a bold step towards strengthening Europe's presence in space, Leonardo announced plans to deploy 18 military satellites and 20 civil multi-sensor satellites into orbit by 2027 and 2028. This initiative highlights the company's dedication to advancing both defense and civilian space technologies.
