BlackBerry Reports Q4 Revenue Decline but Exceeds Expectations
BlackBerry Ltd. has announced a 7% annual decrease in its fourth-quarter revenue for fiscal 2025, totaling $141.7 million, a figure that nonetheless surpassed analysts' forecasts.
Financial Performance Highlights
The company noted a significant improvement in its net loss, which stood at $7.4 million for the quarter, marking an 86.8% year-over-year enhancement. The diluted loss per share was $0.01, a stark contrast to the $0.10 loss per share recorded in the same quarter the previous year.
For the entire fiscal year 2025, BlackBerry's revenue was reported at $534.9 million, down from $759.1 million in fiscal 2024. The net loss for the year improved to $79 million from $130.2 million in the prior year.
Leadership's Perspective
CEO John Giamattero expressed satisfaction with the company's performance, stating, "BlackBerry closed out this transformational fiscal year with another quarter of strong financial performance from all three divisions: QNX, Secure Communications, and Licensing."
Market Reaction
Despite the positive internal outlook, BlackBerry's shares experienced a 1.88% decline in premarket trading, with shares priced at $3.66 each at 7:54 am ET.
