In an ambitious move to redefine urban transportation, Uber Technologies Inc. and WeRide Inc. have announced a strategic partnership with Dubai's Road and Transport Authority (RTA). This collaboration marks a significant step towards integrating autonomous vehicle (AV) services into the daily lives of Dubai's residents and visitors.

A Vision for the Future

"This partnership is a cornerstone for Uber's vision to make AVs a reliable and accessible option for everyday commuting in Dubai, starting with WeRide as our inaugural technology partner," stated Uber. Echoing this sentiment, RTA Director General Mattar Al Tayer highlighted the project's alignment with Dubai's Self-Driving Transport Strategy. "Our goal is to convert 25% of all journeys in Dubai into autonomous trips across various transport modes by 2030," Al Tayer remarked.

The agreement between Uber and RTA encompasses the launch of pilot programs designed to utilize Uber's advanced technology for connecting passengers with AVs.
