Volvo Cars Faces a 10% Sales Drop in March Amid Global Electric Vehicle Market Challenges

Global Sales Decline

Geely Holding's Volvo Cars reported a significant 10% decrease in global sales this March compared to the same period last year. The downturn was also reflected in the sales of electrified models, which saw a 9% decline. Despite this, fully electric vehicles made up 43% of the total sales, with 70,737 units sold worldwide.

Regional Sales Performance

In Europe, the automaker experienced a 9% drop in sales, with electric vehicle sales falling by 18%. The United States saw an 8% decrease in overall sales to 14,052 units, though electrified model sales in the region increased by 5%.

Quarterly Overview

The first quarter of the year also presented challenges for Volvo Cars, with a 6% decrease in global sales, totaling 172,219 vehicles from January to March.
