The US manufacturing sector experienced a noticeable slowdown in March, as indicated by the latest S&P Global report. The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) slightly decreased to 50.2 from February's 52.7, marking the weakest growth recorded this year.

"The initial optimism in the US manufacturing sector at the start of the year has begun to wane," explained Chris Williamson, Chief Business Economist at S&P Global Market Intelligence. "Despite early boosts from political optimism and tariff strategies, March saw a dip in production for the first time in three months, alongside dwindling order books."
