Private equity-venture capital (PE-VC) investments in India witnessed a 10% growth during the January-March quarter of 2025, reaching $7.9 billion from $7.2 billion in the same period the previous year. Notably, these figures exclude investments from the real estate sector.

March Highlights

In March alone, PE-VC investments stood at $2.7 billion, marking an increase of $500 million compared to March 2024, according to Venture Intelligence data.

Top Deals of the Month

Bain Capital led the pack with an investment of approximately Rs 4,390 crore in Kerala-based NBFC Manappuram Finance. Following closely was Actis with a $163 million investment in Stride Climate Investments. The third notable deal was HR tech platform Darwinbox's $140-million raise, co-led by PE firm Partners Group and investment firm KKR.

"The significant investments by global PE firms like Bain and KKR, alongside homegrown firms such as Kedaara, underscore the confidence late-stage investors have in the Indian private markets," remarked Arun Natarajan, founder of Venture Intelligence.
