According to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), Germany's annual inflation rate slightly decreased to 2.2% in March from 2.3% in February, as revealed in their preliminary report on Monday.

Monthly Consumer Price Index Insights

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) experienced a 0.3% increase over the month. Meanwhile, the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HCPI), which excludes food and energy, showed a 2.3% year-on-year rise and a 0.4% month-on-month addition.

Food and Energy Prices Trends

Food prices saw a 2.9% increase compared to March 2024, whereas energy prices took a downturn, decreasing by 2.8%.
