Adani Energy Solutions Expands Portfolio with Strategic Acquisition of Mahan Transmission Project

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd Acquires Mahan Transmission Ltd

Adani Energy Solution Ltd, a key player in the electricity transmission sector and part of the Gautam Adani-led conglomerate, has officially announced the acquisition of Mahan Transmission Ltd (MTL). This strategic move was confirmed through a stock exchange filing, marking a significant expansion in AESL's transmission network.

Adani Energy acquires Mahan Transmission

The acquisition involves a 100% equity share purchase from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), with MTL being a Rs 2,200-crore intra-state transmission project. The project is set to enhance AESL's transmission capabilities by adding 2,800 Mega Volt-Amperes (MVA) of substations capacity and 740 circuit kilometers (ckm) of transmission line.

Project Details and Expected Impact

Slated for completion by April 2027, the Mahan Transmission project will play a crucial role in evacuating 1,230 MW of power from Adani Power's upcoming 1,600 MW expansion unit in Madhya Pradesh's Singrauli district. This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the state's industrialization efforts by ensuring a reliable and efficient electricity transmission system.

AESL secured this project under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) mechanism, with RECPDCL acting as the bid process coordinator. This marks AESL's seventh order win in the current fiscal year, boosting its transmission order book to Rs 59,761 crore.

Strategic Growth and Shareholder Value

"This acquisition aligns with AESL's strategy to enhance shareholder value through both organic and inorganic growth opportunities," the company stated. The project underscores AESL's commitment to strengthening India's power transmission infrastructure and supporting the nation's energy needs.
