Chancellor Rachel Reeves Announces Groundbreaking Planning Reforms
In a significant move to stimulate the UK economy, Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves revealed on Wednesday that the government's planning reforms are set to permanently increase GDP by 0.2% by 2029–30, with a further 0.4% growth anticipated over the following decade.

These projections, meticulously assessed by the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR), were highlighted in her Spring Statement as a pivotal long-term growth strategy. The reforms are expected to generate an impressive £3.4 billion for public services by the decade's end.
Defense Budget Sees Significant Boost
Adding to the day's announcements, Reeves pledged an additional £2.2 billion to the Ministry of Defence for the upcoming financial year. She also confirmed a strategic allocation of at least 10% of the department's equipment budget towards cutting-edge technologies, including AI-enabled systems and drones, marking a forward-looking investment in national security.
