Wall Street Sees Mixed Results as Consumer Confidence Hits a 12-Year Low

US stocks mostly climbed higher on Tuesday, taking a breather after Monday's significant rally. The rally was initially sparked by optimism that impending tariffs might not be as severe as feared.

Consumer Confidence Dips

Despite the positive market movement, a concerning decline in consumer confidence was largely overlooked. The Conference Board's March index dropped to 92.9, with future expectations falling to a 12-year low of 65.2.

Stock Performance

By 4:00 pm ET, the Dow Jones remained unchanged. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq 100 saw a 0.53% increase, led by The Trade Desk with a 4.48% gain. The S&P 500 also rose by 0.16%, with International Paper making a notable 6.49% advance.
