Market Plummets: Stocks Hit a 2-Week Low Amid Trading Slump

Trading Volume Decrease

Trading on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange saw a 16% decrease, amounting to VND19.67 trillion (US$770 million).

Performance of VN-30 Basket

The VN-30 basket, which includes the 30 largest capped stocks, witnessed 15 of its tickers fall. Notably, TPB of private TPBank dropped by 5.3%, and VJC of budget airline Vietjet fell by 1.6%.

Declines and Gains

BCM of Becamex Investment and Industrial Development declined by 1.5%, while LPB of Fortune Vietnam Bank closed 1.1% lower. On the brighter side, twelve blue chips gained, with MBB of lender MB leading with a 1.7% increase.

Foreign Investors' Activity

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading VND1.4 trillion worth of stocks, primarily net selling FPT of tech giant FPT Corporation and TPB.

Other Indices Performance

The HNX-Index for stocks on the Hanoi Stock Exchange, which is home to mid and small caps, rose by 0.20%. Conversely, the UPCoM-Index for the Unlisted Public Companies Market went down by 0.20%.
