
Swiss Trade Surplus Reaches New Heights
In a remarkable economic development, Switzerland's trade surplus soared to 4.3 billion Swiss francs in February, as reported by the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (FOCBS) on a recent Thursday.
Export and Import Dynamics
Exports witnessed a notable increase of 6.6% in nominal terms, reaching 24.37 billion Swiss francs, while imports saw a 7% rise to 20.09 billion Swiss francs compared to the previous month.
Geographical Trade Patterns
Exports to North America and Europe saw significant growth, with increases of 9.1% and 6.6% respectively. However, exports to Asia experienced a slight decline of 0.5%. On the import front, North America saw a decrease of 5.3%, whereas Europe and Asia enjoyed increases of 7.8% and 4.2%, respectively.
