US Natural Gas Storage Dips by 62 Bcf: A Significant Weekly Decline

In a recent report by the Energy Information Administration (EIA), it was revealed that the United States experienced a notable decrease in natural gas inventories. Specifically, the working natural gas in storage saw a reduction of 62 billion cubic feet (Bcf) for the week ending March 7.

Year-on-Year and Historical Comparisons

This decline brings the total storage to 1,698 Bcf, marking a significant year-on-year decrease of 628 Bcf. Furthermore, when compared to the five-year average of 1,928 Bcf, the current stockpiles are down by 230 Bcf. Despite these reductions, the total working gas remains within the expected five-year historical range.
