India Leads in Job Applications for Riyadh Air
Aviation professionals from India are showing significant interest in joining Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's upcoming second national carrier, owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The airline's career portal has seen an overwhelming response, with 14 lakh applications from 146 nationalities, 52% of which are women. India stands out as a top source country for these applications, reflecting the strong interest and trust in the Riyadh Air brand, even before any salary structures have been announced.

Riyadh Air's Expansion and Market Focus
Riyadh Air is gearing up for its launch with an ambitious fleet expansion, ordering up to 132 aircraft, including Airbus A321neos and Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The airline is also in discussions with Boeing and Airbus for ultra-long-range wide-body aircraft. With India identified as a key market, Riyadh Air aims to capitalize on the growing number of Indian tourists to Saudi Arabia, which saw a 50% increase in 2024. The airline's strategy focuses on point-to-point travel, with a significant potential for growth from India and its connecting hub in Riyadh.
