Volkswagen's Financial Overview in 2024
The Volkswagen Group announced on Tuesday that its sales revenue reached €324.6 billion, marking a 0.7% increase from the previous year. Despite this growth, the company faced several challenges, including a decrease in vehicle sales, customer deliveries, and production.

Vehicle sales dropped by 3.5% to 9 million units, with customer deliveries decreasing by 2.3% year-on-year to the same figure. Production also saw a decline, falling by 3.8% to 9.3 million units. The operating profit took a significant hit, plummeting by 15.4% to €19 billion, while earnings after tax for the full year of 2024 plunged by 30.6% to €12.4 billion.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Despite these setbacks, Volkswagen remains optimistic about the future. The company anticipates a sales revenue increase of up to 5% in 2025 compared to 2024. CEO Oliver Blume commented on the company's strategy moving forward, emphasizing the importance of consistent implementation, a strong model offensive, regionally tailored products, and robust partnerships as the foundation for sustainable positive development.
