Volkswagen's Financial Highlights for 2024

In a recent announcement, the Volkswagen Group disclosed its financial outcomes for the year 2024, showcasing a modest revenue increase to €324.6 billion, up by 0.7% from the previous year.

Challenges in Vehicle Sales and Production

Despite the revenue growth, the company faced challenges in vehicle sales, which saw a 3.5% drop to 9 million units. Deliveries to customers also decreased by 2.3%, and production fell by 3.8% to 9.3 million units.

Operating Profit and Earnings After Tax

The operating profit took a significant hit, plummeting by 15.4% to €19 billion. Furthermore, earnings after tax for the entire year of 2024 experienced a sharp decline of 30.6%, settling at €12.4 billion.

Looking Ahead to 2025

Looking forward, Volkswagen anticipates a sales revenue increase of up to 5% in 2025. CEO Oliver Blume expressed optimism about the company's transformation and its strategic initiatives aimed at sustainable growth.
