Strengthening Europe's Competitiveness
Joachim Nagel, a member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and President of the Deutsche Bundesbank (Buba), highlighted the critical need for maintaining solid public finances in both the Eurozone and Germany. Speaking at the Berlin School of Economics, Nagel presented a twelve-point plan aimed at propelling Germany onto a structurally higher growth path.
Key Strategies for Growth
Among the strategies outlined were measures to facilitate business founding, improve workers' rights and well-being, ease the energy transition, and enhance the integration and competitiveness of European energy markets. Nagel stressed the importance of leveraging the common internal market's potential to bolster Europe's competitiveness, stating, "European integration means breaking new ground. This can be difficult at times, but it is worth it."
