Nasdaq to Revolutionize Stock Trading with 24-Hour Market Operations

Nasdaq Announces Groundbreaking 24-Hour Trading Initiative

In a bold move to redefine stock market accessibility, Nasdaq, the second-largest US exchange operator, has unveiled plans to introduce 24-hour trading from Monday through Friday. This initiative, announced by Nasdaq's President Tal Cohen, marks a significant shift in how equities are traded, aiming to cater to the global market's round-the-clock nature.

"We are thrilled to announce that Nasdaq is in the process of engaging with regulators, market participants, and key stakeholders to facilitate 24-hour trading, five days a week on the Nasdaq Stock Market," Cohen shared in a LinkedIn post. This development is expected to commence in the latter half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, and is poised to set a new standard in stock market operations.
