Piyush Goyal's Strategic US Visit for FTA Talks

With the aim of strengthening trade relations, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is set to begin his visit to Washington. This pivotal trip marks the start of negotiations for a proposed bilateral trade agreement between India and the United States.

During his visit, Goyal is expected to engage in crucial discussions with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. These talks are a follow-up to the commitment made during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to Washington, where both nations agreed to negotiate the first tranche of a Bilateral Trade Agreement by the fall of 2025.
