Expanding Horizons in Battery Production
TVS Indeon, a fully-owned subsidiary of Lucas TVS, has recently unveiled its upgraded battery pack production facility located at the SIPCOT Industrial Park near Gummidipoondi. This strategic expansion is set to significantly enhance the company's production capabilities in the burgeoning field of e-mobility and energy storage solutions.

Doubling Down on Production Capacity
Since its inception in 2024, the facility has been operational with a production capacity of 1 GWh, capable of producing 1,500 battery packs daily. With the recent enhancements, TVS Indeon aims to double its output to 1,000 packs per day, creating over 200 new jobs and introducing a second shift to meet the growing demand. The company anticipates reaching its full capacity by March 2026.
Commitment to a Greener Future
"This expansion is a pivotal step in our mission to deliver affordable e-mobility solutions without compromising on quality and safety," stated T K Balaji, CMD of Lucas-TVS & TVS Indeon. He further emphasized the company's dedication to fostering a sustainable, greener, and cleaner future, not only through battery production but also by laying the groundwork for innovative energy solutions.
Meeting the Demand for Lithium-ion Battery Packs
The enhanced facility is poised to address the increasing demand for lithium-ion battery packs, catering exclusively to TVS Motor Company's needs in the e-mobility and energy storage sectors. This move underscores TVS Indeon's commitment to advancing sustainable transportation and energy solutions.
