Wall Street Sees Red Amid Trade and Economic Concerns
On a tumultuous Friday, Wall Street's major indexes took a significant hit, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping more than 400 points. This downturn was fueled by renewed apprehensions over the Trump administration's tariff policies, including threats to impose reciprocal duties on trading partners. Adding to the market's woes, the latest jobs report revealed that the US added only 143,000 nonfarm payrolls in January, falling short of analysts' expectations.

By 2:11 pm ET, the Dow Jones had slid 0.92%, or 410 points, while the Nasdaq 100 and S&P 500 also experienced declines, plummeting 1.21% and 0.92% respectively. In currency markets, the euro weakened against the dollar, losing 0.56% to trade at 1.03314 by 2:17 pm ET.
