In January, Tesla Inc. experienced a notable decline in the sales of its electric vehicles manufactured in China, with deliveries totaling 63,238 units. This figure represents an 11.5% decrease compared to the same period last year, as reported by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) on Friday.

BYD's Remarkable Growth

Contrasting Tesla's performance, BYD, Tesla's Chinese competitor, showcased significant growth. The company delivered 296,446 vehicles in January, marking a 47.5% increase from January 2023. However, this was a 41.8% decrease from the previous month.

Furthermore, the deliveries of China-made Model 3 and Model Y units saw a 32.6% decline from the previous month, highlighting the challenges Tesla faces in the competitive Chinese market.
