
Job Openings Decline
In December, the United States witnessed a decrease in job openings, with figures dropping to 7.6 million from 8.1 million in November, as reported by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. This decline brought the job opening rate down to 4.5%.
Hires and Separations Remain Steady
The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) highlighted that the number of hires remained relatively stable at 5.5 million, maintaining a hires rate of 3.4%. Similarly, total separations saw little change, holding steady at 5.3 million, with the separations rate unchanged at 3.3%.
Quits Rate Unchanged
Furthermore, the quits rate stayed consistent at 2%, with the number of quits recorded at 3.2 million, indicating a stable level of voluntary job separations.
