Max Healthcare Reports Q3 Earnings Decline
Max Healthcare Institute Ltd announced a 6.5% decrease in profit after tax for the December quarter, totaling Rs 316 crore. This decline is attributed to a one-time payment made to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority for altering the shareholding in Jaypee Healthcare Ltd prior to its acquisition.
Revenue Growth Amid Challenges
Despite the profit dip, the company saw a significant increase in network gross revenue, which stood at Rs 2,381 crore compared to Rs 1,779 crore in the same period last year. Chairman and MD Abhay Soi highlighted the company's robust growth, with a 34% increase in revenue and a 32% rise in operating EBITDA.
Future Expansion Plans
Max Healthcare is set to expand its operations with a new 500-bed hospital in Thane, Maharashtra, expected to be commissioned by 2028. Additionally, the company plans to increase the bed capacity of its Mohali hospital from 250 to 400, aiming to meet growing demand and enhance operational efficiency.
