Following the Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, major stock indexes on Wall Street experienced a downturn. The decision to maintain interest rates between 4.25% and 4.50% led to a noticeable impact on the market.

By 2:11 pm ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average had decreased by 0.49%, shedding 234 points. Similarly, the Nasdaq 100 and the S&P 500 saw declines of 0.79% and 0.82%, respectively.

In currency markets, the euro also felt the pressure, trading 0.28% lower against the US dollar at 1.04019.
