Significant Drop in Gasoline Prices Ahead of Lunar New Year Tet Holiday

Recent Changes in Fuel Prices

Biofuel E5 RON92 saw a decrease of 0.77%, bringing its price down to VND20,590. Meanwhile, diesel experienced a 2.07% increase, reaching VND20,190, marking the highest price since July 19.

Factors Influencing Fuel Prices

Regulators have pointed out that the recent fluctuation in fuel prices over the last seven days is largely due to the cold weather in the U.S. and Europe, which has significantly driven up demand. Additionally, new policies introduced by U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to boost fossil fuel production, further impacting the market.

Price Adjustments and Future Expectations

During this period, gasoline prices have dropped by 0.1-0.7%, whereas oil prices have fallen by 2.8-4.7%. Currently, RON95 is priced at $87 per barrel, and diesel stands at $98.1 per barrel.

Due to the upcoming Lunar New Year Tet holiday, starting this Saturday, the next scheduled date for fuel price adjustment has been moved to next Saturday, two days later than usual.
