Essar Renewables' Ambitious Green Energy Project in Maharashtra
In a significant move towards sustainable energy, Essar Renewables Ltd (ERL) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government. This partnership is set to channel an investment of Rs 8,000 crore into renewable energy projects, aiming to develop 2 GW of renewable energy capacity. This initiative is part of the company's broader goal to exceed 8 GW of renewable energy capacity within the next five years.
Boosting Green Mobility and Employment
The projects outlined in the MoU are designed to support the electric vehicle (EV) truck charging ecosystem, particularly for Essar's Blue Energy Motors and Greenline. Scheduled to commence in the financial year 2026-27, these initiatives are expected to create direct employment opportunities for over 2,000 individuals, thereby contributing to Maharashtra's green energy transition and economic growth.

"We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with the government of Maharashtra. This collaboration represents a crucial milestone in our renewable energy projects and also establishes us as a formidable player in the sector," said Ankur Kumar, CEO of Essar Renewables.
