EasyJet Reports Significant Growth in Q1 Revenue
EasyJet PLC announced a remarkable 13% increase in its total revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, reaching £2 billion. This growth is attributed to an 11% rise in passenger revenue, which amounted to £1.3 billion.
Increased Passenger Numbers and Capacity
The airline witnessed a 7% increase in the number of travelers, totaling 21.2 million, compared to the same period in 2024. Additionally, the capacity flown saw a 2% rise, achieving 88% of the capacity operated in the previous year.
CEO's Statement on Performance
"EasyJet has demonstrated strong performance this quarter, significantly reducing Q1 losses by 52% year on year. We've flown 7% more customers to an expanded range of destinations. Moreover, EasyJet Holidays has seen a substantial 40% increase in profits," stated Kenton Jarvis, the company's Chief Executive Officer.
