Investors in the Asia-Pacific region were seen reacting differently to the recent comments made by United States President Donald Trump regarding tariffs on China and Europe. The mixed reactions were evident in the performance of major stock indexes across the region.

Index Performances

Japan's Nikkei 225 saw a significant jump, increasing by 1.50% at 3:28 am CET. On the other hand, Hong Kong's Hang Seng experienced a downturn, falling by 1.53%. South Korea's Kospi, however, added 0.57% to its value. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite both saw declines, dropping by 0.98% and 1.34% respectively at 3:29 am CET. Meanwhile, Australia's S&P/ASX 200 managed to add 0.42 at 3:30 am CET.
