The World Economic Forum (WEF) kicked off its Annual Meeting 2025 by releasing a comprehensive 6-year impact report for the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) India. Since its inception in 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, C4IR India has become a global nexus for leveraging technology to foster societal and economic change.

Decades of Partnership

Highlighting a 40-year collaboration with India, WEF emphasized the evolution of this partnership into a multifaceted alliance involving national and state governments, business leaders, civil society, and experts. The Forum's foreword praised India's commitment to using technology as a bridge for inclusive growth, envisioning a future that is more human-centric, planet-friendly, and resilient.

Milestones and Achievements

The report detailed significant achievements, including AI-driven agricultural programs that have increased farmers' incomes, healthcare initiatives offering life-saving access, and urban development frameworks that have improved city living standards. Over six years, C4IR India has directly impacted 1.25 million citizens by enhancing livelihoods and healthcare access.

Looking Ahead

Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of WEF, commended the centre's progress, highlighting its transformative impact across agriculture, health, and aviation. Looking forward, C4IR India aims to reach 10 million citizens through initiatives like AI for India 2030, space economy initiatives, climate technology programs, and AVIATE India, focusing on aerial mobility to reduce urban congestion and enhance rural connectivity.
