Boeing Achieves 348 Deliveries in 2024 Amid Production Challenges and Strikes

Boeing's 2024 Performance Overview

In a year marked by significant production challenges, Boeing managed to deliver 348 airplanes in 2024. This figure represents a nearly one-third decrease from the previous year, as revealed by the company's data on Tuesday.

Recovery Signs in December

December saw a modest recovery with the delivery of 30 planes. This improvement came after an eight-week machinist strike that had severely disrupted production. The strike, along with a door plug incident in January 2024, were among the key setbacks that impacted Boeing's production capabilities, particularly affecting the 737 Max, its best-selling model.

Major Orders Despite Setbacks

Despite these production woes, Boeing secured significant orders throughout the year. Notably, it received an order for 100 737 Max jets from Turkey's Pegasus Airlines and 30 787s from FlyDubai. These orders contributed to a total of 569 gross orders for the year, showcasing the company's resilience and the strong demand for its aircraft.
