November Sees a Slight Rise in Italy's Industrial Output Despite Yearly Decline

Italy's Industrial Production Shows Modest Growth in November

According to the latest data released by Istat on Tuesday, Italy's industrial production experienced a 0.3% increase in November compared to the previous month. This growth was primarily driven by a significant rise in energy production, which saw an increase of 1.6%. Additionally, the production of consumer goods and intermediate goods also saw positive changes, with increases of 0.9% and 0.3%, respectively. However, not all sectors experienced growth; the output of capital goods saw a decrease of 0.6%.

Year-on-Year Comparison Reveals Decline

When comparing November's industrial output to the same month in the previous year, there was a noticeable decrease of 1.5%. Despite this overall decline, the energy sector continued to perform well, with a 4.3% increase year-on-year. The production of consumer goods also showed improvement, rising by 2.6%. On the other hand, the output of intermediate goods and capital goods did not fare as well, with decreases of 2.5% and 4.9%, respectively.
