Mercedes-Benz Faces a 4% Sales Drop in 2024, Yet Finds Silver Lining in North America

Mercedes-Benz Reports a Challenging Year

Mercedes-Benz Group AG revealed a 4% decline in its 2024 car sales, totaling 2.389 million vehicles. The sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) also saw a significant drop of 22%, reaching 204,600 units compared to the previous year.

Regional Sales Performance

Despite the downturn, North America emerged as a beacon of growth for Mercedes-Benz, with an 8% increase in sales, totaling 365,400 vehicles. However, the company faced challenges in Europe and Asia, where sales decreased by 3% and 7% to 641,800 and 892,100 vehicles, respectively. Germany, in particular, experienced a 9% decline in sales, amounting to 213,500 vehicles.
