Amazon Expands Its Horizon: Selling Ad Tools to Retailers Beyond Its Platform

Amazon Ventures into New Territory with Ad Technology

In a groundbreaking announcement at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Amazon.com Inc. unveiled its plans to extend its advertising prowess beyond its own marketplace. The tech giant introduced the Amazon Retail Ad Service, a novel product designed to empower other retailers with Amazon's sophisticated ad technology.

This innovative service enables retailers to display contextually relevant advertisements precisely where and when they are most effective. Retailers will have the flexibility to customize the design, placement, and frequency of ads across their product pages and websites. Initially available to U.S. retailers, Amazon has kept pricing details under wraps, indicating that fees will be contingent on usage levels.

"Our goal with the Amazon Retail Ad Service is to create a beneficial ecosystem for retailers, advertisers, and shoppers alike. We're excited about the potential to enhance outcomes, boost sales, and enrich the shopping experience," stated Paula Despins, Vice President of Amazon Ads Measurement.
