New Direct Flights to Connect Jordan and India
Royal Jordanian Airlines is set to enhance travel between Jordan and India by introducing new direct flights from Amman to Mumbai starting April 17, followed by Delhi-Amman flights from September 17, 2025. Initially operating four times a week, these routes are expected to become daily services by the summer of 2026, aiming to significantly increase the number of Indian tourists visiting Jordan.
Jordan: A Safe and Welcoming Destination
Despite the ongoing conflicts in the West Asian region, Jordan remains a safe and welcoming destination for tourists. With 80,000 visitors from India in 2019 and similar numbers expected in 2024, Jordan is keen on tapping into the Indian market's potential. The country offers visa on arrival for Indian tourists, making it easier for them to explore Jordan's rich cultural heritage and historical sites.
Boosting Bilateral Trade and Tourism
The introduction of these direct flights is not just about tourism; it's also aimed at strengthening the economic ties between Jordan and India. Royal Jordanian's Chief Commercial Officer, Karim Makhlouf, emphasizes the airline's commitment to promoting Jordan as a boutique destination, offering unique experiences to Indian travelers. The airline's fleet expansion, including the addition of 19 new aircraft, will support these new routes, featuring Airbus A320neos equipped with inflight entertainment and WiFi.
