Volkswagen's 2024 Performance Overview
Volkswagen AG has disclosed its 2024 vehicle delivery statistics, revealing a total of 4.8 million units distributed globally, marking a slight decrease of 1.4% compared to the previous year. Despite the challenges faced, the automotive giant managed to sell 383,100 battery electric vehicles (BEVs), showcasing its commitment to electrification.
Regional Delivery Insights
In a detailed breakdown, China led with 2,198,900 vehicles delivered, albeit an 8.3% decline. Europe followed with 1,254,500 deliveries, a 1.7% reduction. North America, however, witnessed an impressive 18.4% growth, totaling 592,300 deliveries. South America also saw a significant year-over-year growth of 21.1%, with 479,400 vehicles delivered.
Looking Ahead with Optimism
"Despite the global economic slowdown, political hurdles, and fierce competition, especially in China, we are entering the new year with a positive outlook. Our diverse and extensive model range, catering to all drive types, positions us well to meet the varied needs of our customers," stated Martin Sander, Volkswagen Board Member for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales.
