The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs report highlights a significant shift in the workforce landscape. While clerical and secretarial positions may see a decline, sectors like health and education are expected to experience robust growth. In India, the demand for specialists in Big Data, AI, ML, and security management is on the rise.

Structural factors, including digital access expansion, the rising cost of living, climate change mitigation, demographic shifts, and geopolitical fragmentation, are reshaping the job market. These changes could displace 8% of the current workforce but also create around 170 million new jobs, marking a 14% increase in the workforce.

Indian companies are at the forefront of investing in AI, robotics, autonomous systems, and energy technologies, aiming to outpace global adoption rates in semiconductors, computing technologies, and quantum and encryption technologies to revolutionize their operations.

With the US and India leading in AI skills enrollment, corporate sponsorship is playing a pivotal role in enhancing GenAI training uptake. Analytical thinking, resilience, flexibility, agility, leadership, and social influence are identified as essential skills for the future workforce.

As the job market continues to evolve, workers are advised to adapt, with an expectation that 39% of their current skill sets will undergo transformation or become obsolete by 2025-2030.
