Overview of the Week Ending January 3

According to the latest report from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), the United States saw a significant decrease in its natural gas inventories. The week ending January 3 witnessed a reduction of 40 billion cubic feet (Bcf) in working natural gas storage, bringing the total to 3,373 Bcf.

On an annual basis, the storage figures have declined by 3 Bcf. Furthermore, when compared to the five-year average of 3,166 Bcf, the current stockpiles are down by 207 Bcf. Despite these changes, the total working gas remains within the five-year historical range, indicating a stable yet fluctuating market.
