On Wednesday, the Asia-Pacific stock markets presented a mixed picture. This came after Australia reported a slight increase in its annual inflation rate, while Japan experienced a dip in consumer confidence.

Japan's Nikkei saw a decrease of 0.19% by 7:13 am CET, with the dollar strengthening by 0.15% against the yen, trading at ¥158.1155. In contrast, South Korea's Kospi enjoyed a gain of 1.24% at 7:14 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 closed the day 0.77% higher.
China and Hong Kong Markets
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite remained unchanged at 7:00 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite fell by 0.37%. Meanwhile, Hong Kong's Hang Seng dropped by 0.72%, or 140 points, at 7:16 am CET.
