November Sees a Slight Uptick in Australian Inflation
In an unexpected turn of events, Australia's monthly consumer price index (CPI) witnessed a rise to an annual pace of 2.3% in November, up from 2.1% in October, as reported by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) this Wednesday.
Core Inflation Measures Show Mixed Signals
Delving deeper, the CPI excluding volatile items and holiday travel surged to 2.8% in November, marking an increase from the previous month's 2.4%. However, the 'trimmed mean', a core inflation measure designed to mitigate the impact of irregular price changes, slightly decreased to an annual rate of 3.2% from 3.5% in October.
