In November, the United States job market showed resilience with job openings holding steady at 8.1 million, as reported by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The job opening rate remained unchanged at 4.8%, indicating a stable demand for labor across various sectors.
Hires and Separations Remain Stable
The Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) highlighted that the number of hires was little changed at 5.3 million, with a hires rate of 3.3%. Similarly, the total separations saw minimal change, standing at 5.1 million, with a rate of 3.2%. Notably, quits fell to 3.1 million, while layoffs and discharges remained steady at 1.8 million, mirroring October's figures.
