CHENNAI: In a significant achievement, Wabag House, the corporate office of VA Tech Wabag in Chennai, has once again been awarded the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) platinum re-certification in 2024. This accolade underscores the company's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and excellence in green building performance.

A plaque commemorating this achievement was presented to Rajiv Mittal, chairman of Wabag House, by C Shekar Reddy, national vice-chairman of CII-IGBC. This marks another milestone in Wabag House's journey towards sustainability, having first achieved platinum certification in 2018 and re-certified in 2021.

Ambitious Goals for a Greener Future

Wabag House is not resting on its laurels. The company has set ambitious targets to become a 'zero waste' building by 2025 and achieve zero carbon status by 2028. These goals align with India's climate action commitments and demonstrate Wabag's dedication to a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable planet.

Wabag House has also earned dual certifications for net-zero water and near-net-zero energy from the IGBC, making it the first operational corporate office in India to receive this dual recognition.
