Slovak PM Condemns Ukraine for Gas Transit Halt, Threatens Retaliation

Slovakia's Response to Ukraine's Gas Transit Decision

In a recent development, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has openly criticized Ukraine for its decision to halt gas transit to Europe. Fico accused Ukraine of sabotaging Slovakia's public finances and undermining the financial stability of the European Union.

Expressing his concerns on Facebook, Fico stated, "President Zelensky has initiated actions that are detrimental to the public finances of the Slovak Republic and harmful to the financial interests of the entire EU. It is imperative for Slovakia to assert its sovereignty."

Furthermore, Fico hinted at possible retaliatory measures, including the reduction of electricity supplies and assistance to Ukrainian citizens living in Slovakia, signaling a potential escalation in tensions between the two nations.
