Indian Stock Market Opens Higher
India's stock market witnessed a positive start on Friday, with significant gains in financial stocks leading the charge. The upward movement was observed amidst a lack of major catalysts as the year draws to a close.
By 9:16 am, the Nifty 50 index had climbed to 23,848.30 points, marking a notable increase. Similarly, the BSE Sensex saw a rise, reaching 78,783.96 points.
Twelve out of the thirteen key sectors experienced advances at the start of trading, with financials at the forefront, recording a 0.5 per cent climb. Additionally, small-cap and mid-cap stocks, which are more domestically focused, also registered gains of approximately 0.3 per cent each.
